AI Breakdown

Your Team's AI Habit Decides Whether It Pays Off

Episode Notes

𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟖% 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲. 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥. 😳

Gallup surveyed more than 17,000 American workers. Among regular users, 79% say AI makes them faster. Among irregular users, 38%. Same tools, very different results.

This week on 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧:

𝐀𝐈 𝐈𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐤

The tools are arriving either way. How often somebody uses them is the part you get to build, and it is the cheapest finding of the week, because frequency costs nothing to try.

Inside the episode:

🔴 63% of AI users say it helps them work faster, all self reported, from a base of people already using it

🔴 Regular use at 37% among managers against 25% among individual contributors

🔴 A free office suite shipping no AI at all by default, on the view that the only assurance surviving an audit is that nothing leaves the machine

🔴 Claude arriving as a sidebar in Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, with approval cards on by default

🔴 A support agent at $750 a month plus 90 cents per automated ticket, and why a lower headline rate can still cost more

If managers use it and the people doing the work do not, you bought a tool for the wrong half of the team. 🎙️
